No-exam life insurance

Which applicants qualify, how the process operates, and what varies if you don't fit the criteria.

Several carriers provide accelerated underwriting: for candidates within specific age and amount ranges, they render a decision based on the application, your prescription history, driving record, and other accessible data, bypassing the need for a physical exam. Decisions sometimes arrive within 24 hours. Each quote here shows whether an exam is mandatory, conditional, or unnecessary for each product.

What it changes

Forgoing an exam doesn't bypass underwriting scrutiny. Your answers face verification, and a policy written based on false information can be denied during its first 24 months. If the carrier's research uncovers concerns, it may request an exam or blood tests; the choice to proceed is yours.

Who tends to qualify

Generally applicants younger than 60 seeking coverage below each carrier's expedited underwriting limit, with no significant health conditions and tobacco-free for at least a year, qualify for no-exam products. A few carriers may accept recent medical bloodwork instead of a new exam.

An exam, if required, typically takes 20 to 30 minutes conducted by a paramedical professional at your home or workplace in San Gabriel, at no charge. Solid results often move you into a better rate tier for healthy applicants, so testing isn't necessarily a drawback.
